Small donations were made to the endowment fund
over the years and by 1866, the fund amounted to nearly two hundred and twenty dollars.

At a meeting of the Vestry of the church of St.Thomas' Rougemont on Easter Monday April
22nd 1867, Rev. F. Robinson presented the following statement to the meeting in relation
to the endowment fund:

"In April 1866, the Incumbent applied to the Lord Bishop of the Diocese for a grant
as a bonus from the Church Society of the sum of $500.00 to be paid in annual instalments
of $100.00 each toward the endowment of the Church of St.Thomas Rougemont on condition the
people of the place would raise an invest $2500 for the same object".

Subsequently he received notice that the society had granted $200.00 on condition the
people of the place would raise and invest at least $2,000.

Whereupon a subscription paper was drawn up and signed as fellows viz:
"On demand, we the undersigned hereby pledge ourselves to pay either in money or
in good lawful security bearing six per centum interest per annum from the first instant
to the Lord Bishop of Montreal in trust for the endowment of the Mission of Rougemont in
the county of Rouville the sums set opposite to our names respectively: and in default of
paying the said sums on demand we bind and oblige ourselves respectively to give either
our notes of hand or good and sufficient morgage deed for security of the payment of the
said sums and this on demand..
